DVD Review: Jillian Michaels Banish Fat Boot Metabolism

Time for my second DVD review! I really like doing these reviews and it seems like its useful for other people, too! My goal is to give you a heads up before you buy the DVD so you know what to expect.

This is a little bit older DVD, it was released in 2008, but its still very relevant. Its available on Amazon for less that $8, so its an affordable option for people looking for a good cardio DVD.

This is a total cardio DVD, I used to call it the torture DVD because you are moving from one killer cardio move the next without stopping, the whole time! Its broken down into seven 6-minute circuits, and each move is done twice. Jillian incorporates kickboxing, calisthenics like butt kickers and jumping jacks, and ab moves to create a sweat soaked 50 minute workout session. You do thinks like punch combinations, side kicks, jumping jacks, skaters, mountain climbers and superman ab holds. There are also some very hard jump moves that make me want to cuss, but they sure work the body. There is no equipment need (a mat would be nice if you work on a hard surface), but you will feel it the next day.

What I love about this video, is that you get what you put into it. If you want to make is easier you can, by doing a little slower and not as deep. But if you really want to get your butt kicked you sink down lower, and go a little bit faster. If you put in more work you will feel it.

I’ve used this DVD more frequently the last few weeks. Some days, I just want some heart pounding, can’t catch my breath cardio work and this DVD is the answer.

I think this is a great DVD for someone just starting out, or to get a little variety. Even though its older, its still effective and doesn’t seem outdated like some other DVDs. Its a bonus that you can get it for so cheap online!

Great cardio workout. Will cause sweating.
