KLUTCH Club Review & Giveaway!

Finally Friday!

This was a long week, I am currently enjoying some much needed time to relax at home. I might head to the gym here pretty soon, or do a workout video.I planned to run 4-5 miles but the sky is black with storm clouds, so I opted out of that one. After work I did a little shopping instead of hitting the gym right away. I have one run, one bootcamp type workout, and one yoga workout planned for this week (today-Sunday) so I will get something in tonight, even if it’s a just a yoga DVD. Although, Blake and I are planning to hit up the town late tonight so maybe I should burn a bunch of calories so I can have a cocktail.

We shall see.

Today, I’m giving away an awesome prize!

A few weeks ago there was a Living Social deal, for a KLUTCH Club subscription box for only $4 so it was $6 off! I bought two and hoped for the best. I’ve only tired one subscription box in the past and I was not happy with it. None of the samples were anything I would use on regular basis. But the KLUTCH Box looked like it would be packed with stuff I would actually use and enjoy, plus it was only $4 plus shipping. (It was on sale with the living social deal, typically $10 plus shipping.)

My box was delivered by FedEx a week or two ago and I’m so happy with it! I’m definitely going to order another one! Plus I bought one for one of you! Trust me you will love it.

Here’s everything that came in my box…

1. Cremo Shave Cream
2. King Arthur Flour Whole Flax Meal
3. yurbuds headphones
4. c.booth Honey & Almond Body Butter (Love this stuff!)
5. Natural Vitality Calm Drink Mix
6. Nature’s Gatue Papaya Body Wash
7.SOYJOY Chocolate Cherry bar
8. Seaweed Mud Cellulite Formula
9. 1-month Luminosity.com Gift Card

So far I’ve tried about half of the stuff and I’m loving it.

The body butter is the best! Its super thick and feels great on my super dry skin. The scent is light which its perfect, I hate overbearing scents. I also loved the Body Wash, I’m planning on buying a full sized bottle when my current body was runs out. The smell is perfect for the mornings, fruity smells always perk me up mid yawn!

My hubby took full advantage of the luminosity card! It’s a fun website with brain teasers and things to make you think!

I was also really excited to see the yurbuds in my box because a few weeks ago I almost bought a pair but I recently stole my hubs new apple earbuds so I passed, so it was really cool to get a pair.

I have to admit, I didn’t love them the first time I tried them out. First of all, you have to twist them into your ear, it takes some getting used to. They were also a little uncomfortable when I was using them sitting at my desk. I decided to give them a second try during a run and I changed my mind about them! They did not fall out nor did sweat drip into my ear. Perfect for workouts. Although, they go into the ear canal, they didn’t block out all the outside noise, which I actually prefer, because I like to know what is going on around me.

I haven’t tried the Flax meal, but I am totally looking forward to try it out! The back of the box has directions for subbing it into baked dishes! You can bet I will be trying that. Honestly, I’m looking forward to trying everything!

All in all, I’m so happy with this subscription box! Its only $18 per month (shipping included) so its totally affordable considering all the stuff you get. The headphones alone were $30 at Dick’s Sporting Goods, so this box was a steal! If you are interested in trying out a subscription box, I would totally recommend KLUCTH Club! The have boxes for Women, Men and even exclusive boxed for Mom’s! Everything in this box is designed to keep you healthy! Perfect for all types of people.

But you can also win one here! Just leave a comment on this here post to win! Extra entries for following Living Made Healthy on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook! Just leave a separate comment saying you did so. So there is a total of 4 ways to enter. (If the winning comment isn’t really following, I will pick another winner.) Winner will be annouced on May 24th! next Friday.

Pretty Darn Good

Hello everyone!

I’m going to keep this short & sweet…or at least short.

Today was a pretty darn good day. Nothing cool happened but I stuck to my plans and that’s what really counts.  Why bother making plans if you aren’t going to stick to them?!

Here I am looking like a train wreck after a vicious 4 miles on the treadmill. I planned to do my run outside but the weather had other plans, so I passed the miles watching Kitchen Nightmares on my phone. Those four miles were brutal…proof that I took too many days off from the gym.

I only had one piece of chocolate today, a Caramel Macadamia Nut thingy that my co-worker brought home from Hawaii! (Thanks, Kelsey!) I did have a chocolate pretzel protein bar for a snack, but mostly because it’s the only thing I had with me to munch on. For the whole day I was right at 1637 calories. Not too shab, considering I burned 436 calories during my run.

Right now I’m about to fold my a load of laundry and pack my gym bag for tomorrow.

Thanks for reading!! Nighty Night!

Let Me Explain

Hi Friends!

I’ve been a little distant from the blog lately, and I have to apologize. I didn’t mean to take a little hiatus but I had to work though some stuff, so let me explain.

First of all, I finished the Sugar Detox two weeks ago, which was great! Cutting out sugar and refined flours really helped me to drop a few pounds and I reached my lowest weight ever…and finally met the 170s on the scale!

And then the next day and following days I went a sugar rampage! Its embarrassing really. At a BBQ with friends, I scarfed down about 1/4 of Boston crème cake. I was finding myself eating more sugar and sweets than ever; yogurt, granola, chocolate chips, chocolate covered bananas….junk junk junk.

All this was in days of the Diet Bet ending which scared me, I didn’t want to lose my money! I was up a few pounds and knew it was some bloat and left junk in my system so I agreed to do a juice fast with my mom from the Reboot website. This is the program made by the guy, Joe,  from the Sick, Fat, and Nearly Dead documentary. My mom has a similar auto-immune disorder and her doctor suggested she check it out and maybe try it. Long story short, I lasted about two days, made it back to my goal weight for the bet, and then gorged myself on pizza and Arby’s. ARGH!

So what happened after all this… I’d like to say there was big monumental moment but there isn’t. I just realize I’ve had enough.

— I’m sick of weighing myself every single day, multiple times a day. During the Diet Bet, it seriously got out of hand, I’m talking 5, 6, 7 times per day. So I took the batteries out the scale and shoved it in a closet…where it will stay for an undetermined amount of time. The truth is, I don’t need it. I know when I’m eating right and getting enough exercise. I don’t need a scale to tell me, I know when its enough.

— I’m in a workout rut! I miss the way I felt when I was doing Bob Harper DVDs daily, I was starting to develop muscles and maybe even abs. I love running but I need the weights too. I’m not doing it on my own very well, so I made a big decision and joined a gym. I’ll go in to detail about this a little more later but I’ve already gone twice and I can tell this will help me reach my goals.

— I feel myself falling back into a sedentary lifestyle, when I’m not working out. With my new ad design job I sit at a desk all day long, then I come home and sit on the couch or go to bed early. Well this has got to stop, I’ve gone on a couple walks during my breaks at work but I need to increase this to every day. I also need to walk my pups more!

Speaking of the pups: I thought this was funny…Kia is a afraid of water and finds the only dry place when it rains and Mopar was out having a blast rolling in the mud!

— As for food…well maybe you noticed a new little badge on the side of the blog…I’m now a Diet To Go Ambassador! Next week they will be sending me a whole week’s worth of meals to try out! I’m super excited to partner with Diets To Go and I’m looking forward to sharing my experience with you guys. Until then I’m trying to eat up all the yummy fresh stuff I have in the fridge so nothing goes bad.

All in all, I’m pretty excited about all these new changes. I’m ready to no longer have a weight problem. I’m ready to be a “regular” sized person. I’m ready to live the kind of life I want to live.

Thanks for reading! Hope you have a fab weekend!

My Recent Priorities

My routine is all outta wack these days!

This week I worked 50 hours, but originally was scheduled 56. I ended up getting Friday afternoon off and took complete advantage by sleeping! Popping around from job to job, that happen to be in two different cities, is exhausting!

It’s so exhausting that this week turned into a rest week. The fact of it is, I just needed to sleep and it took priority over working out. I wanted to workout, I just couldn’t keep my eyes open!

I seriously do not function well when I don’t get enough sleep. I feel run down, emotional, and often times sick to my stomach. It’s very strange!

I’m not worried about my low number of workouts this week. Working out has become so much more than a means to weight loss. I’m constantly striving to run faster, try harder, go longer and be better than my last time. I know that this week isn’t me falling into bad old bad habits, and the reason I don’t have to worry!

Here’s what I did do:

Monday: rest
Tuesday: Bob Harper abs plus a short run (didn’t track it) probably about 1.25 miles
Wed-Sat: rest
Sunday: planned long run. Between 5-6.5 miles

This week will not be any better in terms of my schedule, but it’s the last week of the insanity! I plan to take full advantage of my two afternoons off: today and tomorrow. Today will be about the long run, and getting some food pre-cooked and ready for the week. I’m going to be bouncing around from place to place, so I need stuff ready to go! Tomorrow evening, I’d really like to get a ton of house work done! We have a mountain of laundry that needs folded and put away! (My nemesis!)

I did take an hour to myself yesterday and got my nails done! I love the colors, but I don’t love how square they are, I’m not a big acrylics girl so this is all new to me. In fact the last time I had my nails done was two years ago for my wedding! I’m sorta excited to be able to do some trendy nail art. I’m really hoping this can help me to stop biting!

This upcoming week will be a challenge, and if my workouts loose priority again I know I will be ok! I’m on track with my eating which makes all the difference!

Hope you all a great week!

FitnessGlo & Other Awesome Workouts

A week or so ago, Ashley at Coffee Cake and Cardio hosted a giveaway from FitnessGlo, and I won! Can you believe it? I love Ashley’s blog, I highly recommend it. I also follow her on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook….stalker much?

So what is FitnessGlo?

FitnessGlo was designed to change the way you feel about fitness. Many fitness programs get very complicated, very quickly and before you know it you’re tracking so many different factors, it’s easy to lose your way or decide to skip your workout altogether. Our goal is to keep it simple: find a workout, do the workout.

Our classes have been created to get you moving and feeling good about you. When you move, you begin to feel great and when you feel great, you can truly enjoy living.

Our FitnessGlo instructors are experienced, certified teachers who believe that the key to living a life you love is all about getting up and moving. Whether it’s a beginning class to start your fitness journey, a strength class to find your inner power or an all-around power class that gives you cardio, strength and stretching all in one go, our instructors will nurture you, challenge you and inspire you.

Why join FitnessGlo? You’ll love the classes, you’ll love the instructors. The best part: you’ll love the way you feel.

Basically is bunch of different group classes available online. They have a lot of options like barre classes, stretching, dance, kickboxing. No doubt there is something for everyone. So far I’ve tried a new class each time and enjoyed them all. You can search for classes, by style, instructor, level (of intensity) and duration. Which makes it super easy to find something you will like! You can also create a playlist, so you can add videos together like a 30 minute cardio, followed by 10 minutes of ab and then a quick 10 minute stretch. Each video also a preview of what kind of stuff you will be doing, which is really nice because I can tell before I start a video that it has some crazy spinning and twisting dance move that will have my flat on my face!

Seriously, cool! You can also create a schedule for yourself, so you can pre-plan your workouts, then when you are ready to workout just play for the day. FitnessGlo is making it easier to get a workout in! And can you believe its only $12 a month! That’s cheap! I promise you they really work, I’ve been sore after each workout. Thanks to Ashley, I won a 90 day membership which I promise I will be taking complete advantage, and then probably paying the monthly fee.

I will tell you a little more about each workout I’ve done down below.

A Week Plus One Day Of Seriously Awesome Workouts:

Does the week start on Sunday or Monday? For my purposes I’m going to use Sunday as the last day of the week because that’s what myfitnesspal does. But I’m including last Sunday in my little recap because it launched my awesome week.

Last Sunday: 2 mile run & 20 minute Tabata Blake and his friends went to play frisbee golf, and I tagged along. Frisbee golf is so boring is like torture so I was prepared for a run. This was my first run of the year and I was super excited because I was also trying out my new Asics! I was pleasantly pleased to find that I’m speedy! I ran faster this year than all of my runs last year. Following that I did a 5 sets of tabata style moves. Tabata is a style of high intensity interval training where you go hard for 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds and repeat for a total 4 minutes or 8 rounds. I did wall push ups (but I used a picnic table), box jumps, dips, chair squats, and then reverse crunches. Yowza. I put myself through the ringer, I was so sore the next day.

Monday: FitnessGlo workout Kickin’ Cardio & Conditioning (45 minutes)

Tuesday: REST-really sore from the last two days.

Wednesday: FtinessGlow Chest, Arms & Back (strength), Anytime Anywhere (HIIT), and Skills & Drills (kickboxing)

Thursday: Sweat It Out, Burn is Off (Cardio), and Crazy for Core

Friday: REST

Saturday: Cardio Interval Drills (only 23 minutes)

Sunday: 4 mile run, core video and yoga

I really enjoyed trying all these new videos this week. To tell you the truth I was getting super bored with Insanity, and the decision to stop using it to take advantage of this awesome gift I received was easy!

Here’s to another week of variety and awesome workouts!

Eat, Sweat, and Blog Challenge Info

Hello All!

This morning I started the day with a classic breakfast!

One egg, two egg whites, spinach, mushrooms, and cheese. Plus toast with raspberry jam. All of a sudden I started adding Tapito to my eggs, I like it! And that jam isn’t approved on the Elite program, but B’s Grandma made it and its the best.

Then I headed off to work. I should have packed my self 3 meals to go, but I only took two, oops.

My second meal today was protein shake.

It was so thick and creamy! One cup of frozen mixed berries, 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder, a banana, 1 cup of non-fat milk, 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract and ice! The only problem is the dang seeds in the berries, I hate those!

For my third meal I had 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and half a pb&j. Forgot to photograph it! Boo.

I also cheated a little a lot and had a latte. I made sure it had a cup of milk, it could be included in one of my meals, it’s just the sugar I’m to avoid.

As soon as I got home I started my workout, tonight I took before and after workout pictures, just for fun!

Thank goodness I workout at home where wearing clothing is somewhat optional. I get so hot and sweaty that I just wear short and sport bra. Never would happen in public!

My hair gets so fuzzy when I sweat! Tonight’s workout was tough, of course. Tomorrow I will take my rest day.

In other news, I ordered my Sweat Pink tank tonight! I ordered an extra large because it said they run small, I hope it fits! I’m thinking about hosting a fun walk with some of my friends. Like we can get together, go for a walk, and I’ll have some healthy snack plus maybe some prizes. Wouldn’t that be fun? I wish all of YOU could come! I’ll have to do a fun giveaway too!

I also signed up for Katy’s 28-Day Blog Challenge! Starting tomorrow, she will give ideas to help improve my blog. I’m still learning about all the behind the scenes blogging stuff, so this will be nice!

I’m excited to get started tomorrow, plus I will be posting my January stats and new goals for February!

Great News!

I have tons of good news!

Let’s start with the biggest and best… I’m now a Sweat Pink Ambassador!Photobucket

Welcome to the Sweat Pink™ movement, where tough and girly come together at last. Sweat Pink™ is all about sharing the joy that comes from living a healthy lifestyle. It’s a celebration of hard work and well-earned rewards. Our pink shoelaces are a proud demonstration of all we’ve achieved, and all we plan to become.

I’m super excited! I’m working on getting my bio up on the site, but I’m so stoked that I couldn’t wait to share. I totally can’t wait to meet my new Sweat Pink sisters! I’ll definitely be sharing everything with you guys.

I finished the first week of Insanity workouts! How did that happen? I swear I just started this yesterday, I’ve even double triple checked the schedule to make sure I didn’t miss one. Tomorrow is my scheduled rest day, but I’m thinking about moving ahead one day and then having my rest day on Friday. Fridays are the hardest days for me to get a workout in, I can’t do them after work because I have to get up early on Saturdays. Working out too close to bed keeps me up for hours. I haven’t decided which day will be my rest day.

More good news…the scale moved! Finally! Two weeks of nothing, then it finally dropped. I’m so relived. Stay tuned on the 1st for my January results and February goals! I’m looking forward to that post.

Lastly, my birthday is in 6 weeks and here in Washington that means I have to renew my Driver’s License. I got a notice in the mail today. No one really loves doing that…. but I’m kind of looking forward to it! For the very first time I will be able to tell them a weight I’m proud to say aloud! No need to lie. Feels good! Even if I’m the only one that cares.

Well good night friends, I’ll be back in the morning!
